Man Killed After E-Bike Collides With Pickup in Spokane Valley, WA

Spokane, WA (August 13, 2026) – A fatal motor vehicle crash involving an E-bike and a car was reported at the intersection of North Progress Road and East Valleyway Avenue in Spokane County, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash was reported around 8 a.m. at the intersection of North Progress Road and East Valleyway Avenue. Arriving deputies found the E-bike rider lying on the ground at the intersection.
First responders provided life-saving measures at the scene before the injured man was transported to a hospital. The man was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, preliminary information indicates that a man was driving a car southbound on Progress Road while the E-bike rider was traveling westbound on Valleyway Avenue.
SCSO said neither the truck nor the E-bike stopped at the four-way stop before entering the intersection. The vehicles subsequently collided, resulting in the fatal crash.
The driver of the GMC Sierra remained at the scene and cooperated with deputies, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner is expected to release the identity of the deceased man, along with the cause and manner of death, at a later time.
SCSO said the investigation remains ongoing. Additional details regarding the circumstances of the crash, potential citations, or other enforcement actions may be released as the investigation continues.
