Fatal Head-On Crash Near Sagle, Idaho, Leaves Man Dead Near Spokane

Sagle, Idaho (August 24, 2026) – A 62-year-old Arizona man died after a head-on crash on U.S. Highway 95 near Sagle Sunday afternoon, according to information released by the Idaho State Police.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:19 p.m. on August 23 near milepost 467 on U.S. 95 in Bonner County, according to investigators. Idaho State Police and the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

According to the Idaho State Police, the man from Oro Valley, Arizona, was driving a Toyota FJ Cruiser northbound on U.S. 95 when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a southbound Chevrolet Silverado. The Silverado was towing a trailer at the time of the collision.

The impact caused the Chevrolet and trailer to leave the roadway onto the southbound shoulder, while the car went off the roadway onto the northbound shoulder. The driver of the car was transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The Chevrolet Silverado was driven by a 54-year-old man from Spirit Lake, Idaho. He declined transportation to a hospital at the scene, according to authorities.

The roadway was blocked for approximately two hours while investigators processed evidence and crews cleared debris from the highway. The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
