Fatal SR 27 Crash Near Valleyford & Freeman, Spokane Valley

Spokane, WA (May 28, 2026) — Washington State Patrol troopers responded to a fatal three-vehicle collision Friday evening on State Route 27 between Valleyford and Freeman.
According to responding authorities, the crash occurred when the northbound driver of one vehicle crossed the center line and collided with two oncoming vehicles. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the collision to provide assistance and secure the area.
Officials confirmed that a 39-year-old woman, a passenger in one of the vehicles, died at the hospital. Four others involved in the crash sustained injuries and were transported to local medical facilities.
Traffic in the area was temporarily disrupted while authorities worked to clear the wreckage and conduct their on-scene investigation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation as officials continue to determine the factors that led to the vehicle crossing into oncoming traffic.
