Spokane Woman Dies in Head-On Crash Near Valleyford

Valleyford, WA (May 7, 2026) – A Spokane woman died and three others were injured following a head-on crash Sunday evening on State Route 27 just south of Valleyford.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision occurred around 5:30 p.m. when a vehicle traveling northbound crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Chevy Equinox. Authorities said a third vehicle then struck the vehicle while it was positioned in the southbound lane.

Officials identified the deceased passenger as 39-year-old woman of Spokane. She was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
The crash was reportedly driven by 61-year-old woman of Spokane. Emergency responders transported her to a local hospital along with an 11-year-old passenger who was also inside the vehicle at the time of the collision. Information regarding the extent of their injuries has not yet been released.

Authorities remained at the scene for several hours while crews worked to assist those involved, investigate the crash, and clear debris from the roadway. Traffic in the area may have experienced delays during the emergency response and investigation.

At this time, officials have not released additional information regarding the occupants of the other vehicles involved or whether further injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation as authorities continue reviewing the circumstances that caused the vehicle to cross the center line.
