Andrew Lawhon

Recruited from Vancouver, Washington, part of the greater Portland area, Andrew was originally invited by sitting judges to serve as a judge pro tem. After five years, he had to resign from this position, missing the opportunity to actively ensure fairness and equity in the judicial system. Now a senior supervising attorney at a large criminal defense firm, Andrew has led counsel in over a hundred trials. At Albrecht Law Firm, he will focus on becoming a specialist in court and trial matters.

Andrew’s wife is taking on a leadership role in fundraising and private development at a local school, and together they have seven children. His ideal Saturday afternoon includes relaxing on his porch with a cigar and scotch, accompanied by the family border collie.

His hobbies encompass golf and fly fishing, and the high quality of life in Spokane Valley was a key factor in attracting him to the firm. He appreciates the short commute times and the proximity to excellent public golf courses and fishing spots, all within a 30-minute drive.

Having attended Gonzaga for his undergraduate studies, Andrew met his wife there. He looks forward to the new challenge of plaintiffs work and is eager to continue advocating for marginalized individuals. He believes there’s no better way to learn about representing injured clients than from experts who have authored significant texts on personal injury and insurance law in Washington State.

With a Vietnamese mother and an Irish father who met in San Francisco, Andrew feels that Spokane is a better fit for him than San Francisco or Portland, especially since he has a passion for horses. He is also fluent in Vietnamese.
