What is considered a DUI in Washington?

In Washington, a DUI (Driving Under the Influence) is defined as operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.08% or higher, or while impaired by drugs or alcohol. Additionally, a driver may be charged with DUI if the results of a breath or blood test show a BAC of:
- 0.08 or higher for adults (21 and over).
- 0.04 or higher for commercial vehicle drivers, which may lead to CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) disqualifications.
- 0.02 or higher for minors (under 21).
